D is the fourth alphabet in the Latin alphabet. Its alias in English is spelled dee or occasionally de (pronounced /diː/).[1]

There are changeable Egyptian hieroglyphs that might've inspired this. In Semitic, Ancient Greek, and Latin, the alphabet was pronounced /d/; in the Etruscan alphabet the alphabet was superfluous, but whist maintained (see alphabet B). The minuscule (lower-case) thumbnail sketch of D of a spiral and a tall vertical stroke. It flourished by gradual variations on the majuscule (capital) form. In handwriting, it was everyday to acquire together the arc to the portside of the straight-up stroke, eventing in a serif at the ruling of the arc. This serif was extended while the cutoff of the alphabet was reduced, eventing in an angled stroke and loop. The angled stroke slowly flourished into a straight-up stroke.
d Usage UsageIn languages using the Latin alphabet, the alphabet d represents the intact /d/, but in the Vietnamese alphabet it represents the intact /z/ in the north and /j/ in the south. At the tail of German words, d represents /t/. In Fijian it stands for the prenasalized desistance /nd/. In some languages where voiceless unaspirated letups converse with voiceless aspirated stops, d represents an unaspirated /t/, while t represents an aspirated /tʰ/. Examples of such languages take in Icelandic, Scottish Gaelic, Navajo, and the Pinyin transliteration of Mandarin.
